How Master Cleanse is also a Detox Diet

How To Implement the Master Cleanse Lemonade Diet

How long should I stay on the Master Cleanse Diet?

Most people stay on the diet for 10 days. This is enough time for your body to flush out any toxins and internal impurities. Some people stay on the diet longer, but if this is your first time, don’t go for longer than 10 days. This is a restrictive diet and could harm you if you do it for longer than 10 days your first time.

How do I exit the diet?

Exiting the diet should be done with some care. After your last day of the diet, start drinking a lot of water and orange juice. The juice will help get your stomach ready for normal foods again and help your body to be ready to digest them. Make sure you don’t jump right back into eating how you used to before the diet, as this will cause your immune system to freak out. You have to ease your way back into it. The next few days after completing the diet, add in salads and light soups to your diet. These are easy to digest and won’t cause your stomach to hurt. Also, steer clear of milk and heavy meats, as these are hard for you to digest. After easing your way out of the diet, you will be able to eat regular foods again!

Tips while you are on the Master Cleanse Diet

  1. Mark your calendar. By doing this you are setting a deadline for yourself. You know exactly when you will begin the diet and when you will stop. This also helps you mentally prepare for the diet.
  2. Clean out your pantry. You don’t want to find yourself caught in a moment of weakness while staring at a box of Oreos. Get rid of all temptations in your pantry before you start the diet.  Give it away, donate it, eat it, do whatever it takes to not have it there during your cleanse.
  3. Keep yourself busy. A lot of us eat when we are bored. It keeps us entertained and makes us happy. However, during the cleanse you won’t be able to do that. You don’t want to find yourself venturing to the pantry out of boredom, so plan some activities to keep you busy. Get out of the house as much as you can to avoid any temptation, and steer clear of restaurants.

Record your journey. Start a new journal or notepad that records how you are feeling during the diet. Focus on the positive changes you are feeling in your body. The more positive you are, the easier it will be. Plus, this will help you if you ever decide to do it again. You can go back and read about the experience to remember what to expect!
